Abstract

|
The purpose of the study is as follows. First, the study aims to measure the effectiveness of Play Therapy for an elementary school boy who is suffering from grief after the bereavement of his close friend. Second, it analyzes the stages of change that the boy goes through during the Play Therapy sessions. First of all, the study examined the quantitative changes in the effectiveness of the Play Therapy and to discern their significance. Qualitative analysis was used to look into the process of change during the Play Therapy sessions. The following are the results. First, there are three clusters of emotions the child expressed during the therapy: Second, there were ten tasks of condolence the child exhibited during the Play Therapy sessions. Third, the changes in the process of the child through the Play Therapy sessions consisted of four stages of change.
